Giuliano d’Angiolini

Giuliano d'Angiolini is a composer and musicologist who lives in Paris. Born in Rome in 1960, he studied composition at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, under the direction of Boris Porena, and ethnomusicology.
He is the author of several articles that have appeared in French and Italian music revues and books concerning music of the Middle Ages, certain classical or contemporary composers, and music of oral tradition. As part of his ethno musicological activities, he published a book about a traditional music from the Greek island of Karpathos.
His works have been played by such ensembles as Alter Ego, Ensemble 2e2m, Ensemble Fa, Ensemble Ictus, Le Banquet, Ensemble Moderne, Musique Nouvelle, Quatuor Parisii, Art Zoyd and at several important festivals (Ars Musica, Aujourd'hui Musiques, Festival d'Automne, Musica, Voix Nouvelles...). Some of his works have been published by Una Corda Editions. A CD of his compositions, played by the Ensemble 2e2m and the Quatuor Parisii, has been published by Edition RZ.
